The Scrap Yard Dawgs are thrilled to announce the signing of Arizona State alumni and right handed-slinger, Dallas Escobedo, through the 2022* season! Dallas comes to the Dawgs after playing one season with Texas Charge and three seasons with the Pennsylvania Rebellion. In 2017, she threw four shutouts for the Charge, while earning seven wins and six losses. She held an impressive 1.58 ERA, and had an incredible 114 strikeouts.
When asked about joining the recent NPF Champions for the 2018 season, Dallas said, “I’m so very excited for the opportunity to continue my NPF career playing with the Scrap Yard Dawgs! For their two years in the league, they have proven themselves to be a top competitor, so to now to join a team with some of the greatest players in the game is a true treat! I cannot wait for the summer to get here to start working together and moving toward achieving amazing goals!”
With the signing of Lauren Haeger and Bailey Landry in October, Dawgs General Manager Connie May has already been working on putting together another Championship squad for the 2018 season. Connie was eager to give her thoughts on signing Escobedo, saying, “Dallas adds the piece the Dawgs need to ensure repeat championships through the 2020 Olympics!”
Dallas was the Number 1 draft pick at the 2014 National Pro Fastpitch draft to the Pennsylvania Rebellion, and helped give the program their first win in their inaugural season. While at Arizona State University, Dallas was the starting pitcher for the Sun Devils in her freshman year and helped lead the Sun Devils to the 2011 NCAA Division I national softball title. She finished her Sun Devil career with a 115-26 win–loss record and a total of 1,222 strikeouts.
Welcome to the team, Dallas!
