Dawgs Fall to Bandits in Series Finale

08/03/2017 3:46 PM -

Dawgs bats stay fairly quiet today with just five hits. Unable to string together those hits left eight runners on base.

A hit by pitch and a walk gave the Bandits two on in the first. A sac fly from Natalie Hernandez scores Emily Carosone putting them up by one.
Throwing error gets Britt Vonk two bases to lead off the second inning. Kayla Winkfield places a nice bunt to get herself on and move Vonk to third. Meagan May-Whitley hits a chopper to third that will score Vonk, making it 1-1.
A hit by Stacy May-Johnson, walk to Megan Blank and error for Sammy Marshall loads the bases for Brenna Moss who hits an RBI single to second for two runs. Bandits up 1-3 in the second.
A base hit by Moss and a HBP to Carosone brings up Sahvanna Jaquish who his an RBI double to score them both making it 5-1.
After a rain delay in the bottom of the sixth the Dawgs make one last effort to come back in the top of the seventh.
Olivia Watkins leads things off with a bloop over second base for a single. Allexis Bennett draws a walk to put two runners on. Nerissa Myers hits into a fielder’s choice to get Bennett at second for a first and third situation with one out.
Brittany Cervantes puts up a sec fly in right field territory to score Watkins from third. A fly out by Taylor Edwards ends the game at Dawgs 2  Bandits 5.
