The Woodlands, TX - January 18, 2016 - The Scrap Yard Dawgs announced today that they have dealt the 20th pick in the 2016 NPF Senior Draft and the Dawgs 5th round selection in the 2017 draft to the Akron Racers for veteran, Nerissa Myers.
"This move continues to round out our roster ahead of the draft. Nerissa is a solid player in the middle infield or outfield and a quality bat," said GM Kevin Shelton. A proven player in the league, she provides us necessary flexibility and versatility. We are pleased to have her on our roster. She will be a good fit."
In two years with the Racers, Myers batted .338 with 74 RBI, hit 18 home runs and scored 58 runs. Myers also stole six bases. After leading the team in hits (50), runs (35), RBI (43), and home runs (9) in 2014, Myers numbers tailed off a bit in 2015 batting .311, with 23 runs scored and 31 RBI.
