THE WOODLANDS, TX – January 16, 2017 – Scrap Yard Dawgs General Manager Connie May announced today the signing of former Pennsylvania Rebellion pitcher Miranda Kramer. Kramer was the 6th overall pick of the 2015 draft and a key component of the Rebellion pitching staff last season.
A left-handed pitcher from West Burlington, IA, Kramer comes to the Dawgs with two years of experience in the NPF. During her time with the Rebellion, Kramer saw 30 appearances, earning 80 strikeouts over 100.1 innings of work, while only giving up 37 walks. Prior to being drafted into the NPF, she was a standout at Western Kentucky University, where she is still the all-time leader in strikeouts per seven innings (12.6) and opponent batting average (.123). During her collegiate career she was named a First Team All-American and was a two-time Conference-USA MVP, along with other awards and honors.
On signing with the Dawgs, Kramer said, "I'm super excited about joining the Scrap Yard Dawgs because of the environment they have from the owner all the way through to the players. I believe it's the right fit for me and together with the pitching staff we will really accomplish some great things! I am extremely thankful for the opportunity to continue playing in the NPF, especially for the Scrap Yard Dawgs!”
On the addition of Kramer to the Dawgs roster, Connie May said, “With the addition of Kramer, we now have another quality arm in the dugout and an athlete that wants the ball in every big game! She competes and has a “bullDAWG” mentality and a drive to win. We are very lucky to have her on our staff.”
