Raquel was born and raised in Galveston, Texas. She currently attends Central Baptist College in Conway, Arkansas where she will be graduating in December 2017 with a Bachelors of Arts in Journalism and a minor in Recreation Leadership. She started her colligate career at Grambling State University where she played for their softball team and found her interest in media. She enjoys photography more than any form of media but is learning so many different things everyday that that could change.
She has played softball for almost all of her life beginning around age four. She played four years of varsity softball at Ball High School and just finished her final season of softball at CBC after having played her first two years at Grambling State University. While at BHS she played varsity golf, was a member of the marching band, an athletic trainer and the mascot her senior year.
Raquel wishes to go back to her high school and coach the softball team while teaching middle school media classes. She wants to be the person she needed when she was growing up for her students. Her ultimate goal is that her students and athletes grow not only academically and athletically but mentally and spiritually.
